Drama Festival 2023
Performing Arts News - DRAMA FEST 2023
Key Dates:
- Semi-Finals Week 9 (Year 1 – Year 6)
- Finals Week 10 (Wednesday 13 September, Prep – Year 6)
I’m happy to say our Drama Festival for 2023 is well underway, with students in Years 1 – 5 presenting their poems during class Drama time and Year 6 rehearsing their monologues at lunch in preparation for the Semi-Finals in Week 9. Please note that students who are in the Semi-Finals will receive a letter to invite their parents to attend this stage of the competition. Following the Semi-Finals, three students from each year level will be selected to compete in the Finals in Week 10.
Parents, grandparents and friends are invited to attend our Drama Fest Finals on Wednesday 13 September in Week 10. It will be a treat to hear the finalists from Years 1 -6 as well as the combined Prep classes, who will recite a poem together. In addition, each year level will perform as a cohort, showcasing the songs we workshopped with Andrew Chinn earlier this term.
- Prep – Year 2 Drama Fest Final:
9:15am – 10:45am Wednesday 13 September (Mercy Centre)
- Years 3 – Year 6 Drama Fest Final:
11:15am – 12:45pm Wednesday 13 September (Mercy Centre)
Perhaps if grandparents are visiting from out of town, they may like to attend Drama Fest on Wednesday 13 September, as Grandparents Day is scheduled the following day, Thursday 14 September.
We look forward to a positive experience for each of your children to be on stage and deliver their performance in front of audience.
Good luck to all our students,
Anita McVeigh (Drama Teacher)
