Christmas Concert MUSIC PERFORMANCES
Christmas Concert Wednesday 22 November REMINDERS
COSTUMES, ATTENDANCE & REHEARSAL
Excitement is building for our Christmas concert. Each year level will perform a dance to a Christmas song. The Prep, Year 1 & Year 2 classes will perform in the 1st session (5:00 pm – 5:45 pm). Following interval, the Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 classes will perform in the 2nd session (6.00 pm – 7.00 pm).
What to wear:
- Christmas-themed clothing / clothing in the colour-scheme red, green, white, silver, gold
- T-shirt with shorts, pants, or skirt (wear school sports shorts if no other option)
- Dress with leggings/bike pants underneath.
- Please ensure that the outfit chosen allows free movement.
Footwear:
- Prep – Year 2 students may wear either sandals or joggers / sneakers
- Years 3 – 6 students may wear enclosed shoes: joggers / sneakers / canvas shoes
(or jazz dance shoes if students own these).
- No flip-flops / thongs
Accessories:
- Students are welcome to wear ribbon, scrunchies, a Christmas-themed headband or tinsel.
- No hats/Santa hats: These are likely to fall off and cause distraction during performance.
Attendance:
- If your child is unable to attend this event, please notify your child’s teacher or Mrs Stewart by email by Monday 20 November. This will allow us to plan spacing on stage for our performances.
Rehearsal:
- All students in Years 4 to 6 have access to rehearsal videos via Teams on their school devices. Please encourage your child to take time to view and practice at home with these. This is especially relevant for students who have been absent in recent weeks, to allow them to be confident when performing for an audience. Students are given a mark on their Semester 2 Report for Dance; the marks for this are based upon the technical and expressive skills evident in their performance of their year level concert dance.
If you have any questions, please email your child’s teacher, or myself, Kathryn Stewart, at k.stewart@twb.catholic.edu.au
We look forward to a wonderful evening of fabulous performances!
