PE (P-2) Term Two
Students in Prep to Year Two completed a modified Athletics unit in the lead up to the school athletics carnival. They focused on modified shotput, discus and high jump as well as sprints, relays and ball games. Students also engaged in station activities where six stations are set up and they rotate between them throughout the lesson. These activities involve passing, catching, kicking, dribbling with feet, hands and hockey sticks, shooting hoops, scooter boards, skipping, goal shooting, ups and downs with tennis rachets, hopping, jumping, skipping, side stepping, animal crawling and balancing.
PE (3-6) Term Two
In Term Two, students have been participating in Athletics, learning how to execute Shot Put, Discus, High Jump, Long Jump, Sprints, Relays and Ball Games. The skills the students have acquired will been utilised in the school athletics carnival.
Health (Prep – Year 2) Term Two
In Term Two, Prep, Year One and Year Two students engaged in health lessons on Wednesdays. Prep students learnt about how their body parts work to help them move, what happens as they grow and how to look after their body by living a healthy and active lifestyle. Year One focused on changes when they grow, what has changed since they were a baby, looking at difference and their identity, and how to live an active and healthy life. The learning focus for Year Two was a more in-depth insight into healthy eating, steps to increase physical activity at home and in the playground at school, keeping a healthy and safe classroom and how we can include others.
Basketball Star
Congratulations to Kenn Corpuz who participated in the Toowoomba Mountaineers U12 trials in May. Kenn found out this week that he made the U12 Toowoomba Neers team after attending a grading tournament over the weekend for the SQJBC held on the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
