Principal News

Dear Parents, Staff and Students,

Welcome to Term 4! Hoping that everyone has had a restful Spring break.  The calendar is packed and we are all primed and ready to go!

This week we welcomed many new students to our school community.  We hope that Brandon (Prep A), Hyeyong (Prep H), Hyunjin (3A), Alijah (4C) and Niklas (4D) all settle in well over the weeks ahead.  Next week we will also welcome a new student to Year 6, Mia.  Our current enrolment is sitting at 403 students.  This is a wonderful result of your word of mouth as many new families often talk of knowing a current or past family that has recommended our school.  Thank you for your support.

We have certainly hit the ground running this week with various activities.  The staff gathered for professional development on Tuesday night engaging in unpacking the Enhancing Catholic Identity Survey and learning more about the importance of sustaining our Catholic Identity in our school and parish community.   Staff will also be engaging in first aid courses over the next two Monday nights, as well as many staff accompanying our Year 5 and Year 6 students on school camps over the next few weeks and the extra time that our Arts teachers have given to ensure our school musical is a great success.  Today we hosted and welcomed our 2020 Prep students and their families.  All of these events are integral to the strong culture of hospitality and welcome we have here at our school. We are certainly blessed with the dedication and commitment from all staff here at St Saviour's Primary School.

Students again have worked with STEM PUNKS in readiness for Term 4 STEM projects.  The students and teachers are excited about the next journey in the Design Approach to thinking and learning.   Watch this space for their end of term presentations.

This month we look forward to:

Year 5 Camp on Tuesday - Thursday October 15th - 17th

Year 5 students, Mr Luck, Mrs Wagner, Mrs Jarrett, Mrs Jackson and members of the Leadership Team will travel to Murphy's Creek to camp for two nights and three days. The students will have plenty of opportunities to participate in acitivites that they many not usually be able to access.  It is a great learning experience both academically, physically as well as socially and emotionally.  We know we will all have the best time.

Queensland Catholic Education Commission Visit -Tuesday October 15th

Every day, teachers are making a positive difference – creating opportunities for their students, empowering minds of young people and proudly teaching our  future leaders, innovators and influencers.

World Teachers' Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and thank teachers for the important role they play inour Catholic Schools – inside our classrooms and out in the community.

Year 6 Camp - 29th October - 1st November

Students in Year 6 will attend their camp at the Gold Coast accompanied by Mrs Harkins, Mrs Harlen, Mrs King and Mrs Smith.  A great opportunity for our school leaders to give thanks for their freindships and primary years in readiness for their next step in their educational journey to secondary school.  We wish them all the best during this week.
