Welcome to Term 4!
As usual, we are preparing for a busy end to the school year and so far, after 3 days, everyone has settled pretty well back into school routine. As Madonna has already mentioned we are delighted to welcome another 5 new students to the wonderful SSP community. No doubt at events in the coming weeks, the families will get an opportunity to meet some of you. I know the students are always very excited to have a "new friend" in the midst!
Years 5 and 6 students started the term early (on the public holiday) for a rehearsal for the upcoming Wizard of Oz Musical (see message from Mrs Spalding further in this newsletter). From what we have seen, you will be very proud of what your child has achieved and presents on stage. What an azazing experience for everuone involved.
A reminder (another) that there is a FULL DRESS REHEARSAL (make up/ hair etc) on Sunday from 10am.
Term 3 Award Winners: Congratulations to all those listed below who received their awards at the end of last term.

Upcoming Dates: Our choir has only one more occasion this year to lead the singing at Sunday Mass and this is next Sunday (after the musical), October 20. As our older students (and specialist teachers) will have had a huge weekend of musical commitments I am hoping that our younger choirists will "step up" and help Miss Cosgrove out with the singing next weekend.
We normally would also have a turn in November, however Fr Michael has organised for a group of African musicians and singers to lead the congregation. This will coincide with our Term 4, final school/ parish Mass on November 17 at which the students will do the readings, take up the offertory etc. It will be a fabulous experience for anyone who is able to attend.
As I write this, I can hear a storm approaching with a few rumbles of thunder and squeals from the younger students outside my window. I hope and pray that we and others will get some much needed rain over the coming days. Please keep our families/ communities on the land in your prayers as we go about being very conscious of our water use.
Enjoy your weekend,
Judy
