Sacramental Program
Bishop McGuckin has given us a date for the celebration of Confirmation for our students participating in the St Patrick’s Cathedral Parish Sacramental Program - Friday, 13th November. There will be two times when Confirmation will be celebrated, 5.30pm and 7.00pm. The limit will be 24 at each time with a maximum of four people (Candidate plus three others). Families will need to contact the Parish office on 4637 1500 to nominate their preference, together with the name, address and phone number for the sponsor. Hopefully, your child has been working through the sessions in his/her preparation booklet and a reminder, too, about decorating his/her sash if he/she would like. As discussed at the celebration of First Eucharist, your child may choose to use his/her Baptismal name (since this sacrament is confirming the baptismal promises made at his/her Baptism) or a saint’s name whose story resonates with your child. There are many books and websites with stories of saints that your child may like to explore. Please contact either Father Michael or Mrs Paula Wagner if you need further clarification with regards to Confirmation for your child.
Year 5 Camp
Our three Year 5 classes have just returned from their Leadership Camp at Cooby Dam this week. As part of their activities, the students participated in a very special camp liturgy on the second night. The students are to be congratulated for the reverence and respect demonstrated in this time of prayer and reflection where they were asked to think about the acronym ‘TIME’
T – Talents
I – Interests
M – Making a difference
E – Using experience
and how these will help them to take on the leadership role as the leaders of St Saviour’s in 2021.
We discussed how all students have what it takes to be a leader and they are all important in showing our younger students how to be responsible, how to be respectful , how to be safe and how to be a learner. They also reflected on the importance of being there for each other, working together as a cohort to ensure they are showing the best versions of themselves to the world.
