St Saviour's Primary Swimming Carnival 2021
St Saviour’s Primary Swimming Carnival will be on the 2nd of February from 9am to 12:30pm at Glennie Aquatic Centre. Children born in 2012 (turning 9 this year) to children born 2009 (turning 12 this year) will participate in the carnival. Students will catch a bus from St Saviour’s to Glennie at 8.40am and return to school after the carnival. Children can then be picked up at the normal time of 3pm. Please make sure your child/ren bring togs, towel, goggles, swimming cap, swimming bag and food. All items are to be labelled. A house-coloured swimming cap is available for purchase from the school office for $5. The children can wear coloured shirts to support their individual house. If they choose not to do this, they can wear their sport uniform. Thongs are fine to wear to and from the pool. Please, no zinc, face paint or hairspray. Your child will be given a permission form to be returned to their classroom teacher by Monday the 1st of February. Attached with this permission form will be more information about the carnival including COVID-19 restrictions. Sporting Schools
This term I will be getting coaches in from two different sports. One sport will be for Prep to year three and the other for year three to year six. These sports will be offered on an afternoon afterschool from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm. There will only be 30 spots for both sports and first to contact myself will get the spots. Please keep an eye on School Zine as once I have confirmed sports and afternoon, I will put a notification for you to register your child/ren. Fitness Club
Fitness club will run again this year in the lead up to the School Cross Country. It will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:15 am - 8.00 am starting from Tuesday 9th February 2021 (Week Three) until Thursday 25th March 2021 (Week Nine). Fitness club is for students in year three to six. Mr Luck, Mrs Wagner, Mr Hannant and Mrs McHugh will be running these sessions. Please make sure your child is on time if they wish to attend, as the sessions start with stretching and a warmup which need to be completed before participating. I will be giving all students who are interested a permission form in PE. These forms need to be filled out and returned to the office before you child participates. Please note that your child does not need to make all sessions and can just come Tuesday or Thursday if that suits your family circumstances. Zone and Darling Downs Trials
All Zone and Darling Downs trials will be placed on SchoolZine. Please check SchoolZine regularly or set up notifications on your phone if you wish for your child to be eligible to trial for Zone and Darling Downs sporting teams as you will be required to obtain paperwork from myself.
