Sunday Children's Mass
Last Sunday, despite a clash with the Touch Carnival, we had plenty of students, staff and families able to attend and assist with the 9am Mass. A sincere "thank you" to all those who were able to join us and lead the singing and readings. A special mention must be made of Mrs Anne-Maree Spalding and Anita McVeigh who again generously gave of their time and talents to take charge of the music and singing. And this is after such a huge commitment with the school musical. Thank you both very much!
Sacramental Program 2022
Is your child baptised and in Year 3? If so, please consider whether you are wanting to participate in next year's Sacramental Program where students, with their parent/s prepare for and participate in the sacraments of Reconciliation (First Confession), Confirmation and Eucharist (First Communion). A letter outlining the program, along with an Enrolment Form, will be sent home in the coming weeks so I would suggest that you discuss this with your child so that they know about it beforehand.
If your child is older than Year 3 and has "missed out" on this program in the past, you are very welcome and encouraged to join in as well. There are always older students in the program and students from other schools, as the Sacramental Program is parish based (not school) and is open to students from other schools in town.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Paula Wagner who has been the Coordinator of the St Patrick's Cathedral Parish Sacramental Program for over 10 years, which has been a huge commitment. Paula has recently decided that the time was right for her to step aside and the parish will be looking for someone to help me to run the program. Thank you, Paula for all you have done, the many hours you have given to assisting hundreds of children and their families in their faith journey.
Year 5 students have designed and created "Trading Cards" about significant saints, detailing not just what is known about them but also what we can learn from their "Wisdom".
Keep an eye out next newsletter for some key dates for the end of term activities.
Looking forward to seeing you next week,
Regards,
Judy
